You've just joined 50,000+ people planning their trip to Banff and the Canadian Rockies. Every Wednesday to Sunday, we send you what's on, what to book, and what to know before you go.
While you're waiting for your first issue, here are three things worth looking at now.
Getting to Moraine Lake and Lake Louise
The two most popular lakes in the Rockies have restricted private vehicle access from late May to mid-October. The Roam Hop-On-Hop-Off bus is the practical solution – it runs from Banff town and covers both lakes, plus Johnston Canyon. Book in advance. Spots fill up weeks ahead in peak season.
A full day in the backcountry
If you want to see Emerald Lake, Moraine Lake, and Lake Louise properly – with someone who knows the area – this guided full-day tour covers all three. It takes the logistics off your plate and gets you to places most first-timers miss.

The gondola is worth it
The Banff Gondola gets you to the summit of Sulphur Mountain in eight minutes. The views across the Bow Valley are the kind you come to Banff for. Go early morning or late afternoon to avoid the midday rush.
