Who we are

The Banff Guide is published by Parks Edge Media Ltd. The website address is https://thebanffguide.com.

The site is hosted and published using Ghost (Ghost Foundation Ltd), which stores the content of this site and the account data described below.

You can contact us at admin@thebanffguide.com.

You can create a free member account on this site. An account lets you subscribe to our newsletter and leave comments on posts.

When you sign up, we collect your email address and your name if you choose to give one. We use this to send the newsletter, to show your name alongside any comments you leave, and to let you manage your own subscription.

Comments you leave are public. The name on your account is shown with them.

Email delivery is handled by our email provider on our behalf. We do not sell member data, and we do not share it other than as described on this page.

You can unsubscribe at any time using the link at the bottom of any email, or manage your account from the same link. Ask us at admin@thebanffguide.com if you want your account deleted entirely.

Media

If you upload images to the website, avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS). Visitors can download images from the website and extract any location data they contain.

Analytics

We use two analytics tools to understand how the site is used:

Ghost's built-in analytics, which records page views and where visitors arrived from. This is first-party and does not track you across other websites.
Google Analytics, provided by Google, which records similar information and uses cookies. Google may process this data outside Canada. Google's privacy policy is at https://policies.google.com/privacy.

Cookies

Cookies are small text files stored on your device by a website. We use them for:

Keeping you signed in, if you have a member account.
