# Kananaskis Larch Bus Now Connects to Brewster

The Kananaskis larch bus is running; it's free, and for the first time it links up with the Brewster Express. Anyone in Calgary who has spent a golden autumn Saturday circling a trailhead car park now has another option.

Officially called the [Explore Kananaskis Fall Bus](https://explorekananaskis.com/about/kananaskis-shuttle-bus/?ref=thebanffguide.com), the service started its autumn schedule on Monday 14 September. The new connection is at the Pursuit Banff Jasper Brewster Express stop at the Stoney Nakoda Travel Centre, so visitors can reach Kananaskis from Calgary and beyond without driving themselves.

## Where the Kananaskis Larch Bus Actually Drops You

For larch hunters, the stops that matter are Troll Falls and Wedge Pond, both named by [Explore Kananaskis](https://www.facebook.com/1641644691301246/posts/1717816310350750) as good spots for this year's golden needles. Hikers can ride out, walk, and ride back without once circling the car park like a patient vulture.

The bus also calls at Kananaskis Village for Kananaskis Outfitters, Moose Family Kitchen, Kananaskis Nordic Spa and Pomeroy Kananaskis Mountain Lodge. Mount Kidd RV Park, Kananaskis Country Golf Course and Boundary Ranch are on the route too, for anyone whose ideal autumn involves a fairway or a horse.

## Free Seats Go to Whoever Turns Up First

Seating is first-come, first-served, with no reservation to fall back on. A family of five sprinting for the stop at departure time may find a family of six already aboard.

The bus pulls in roughly five minutes before each listed departure, and that window is the time to be at the stop. Gear is permitted, and the service is pet-friendly, so the dog gets a larch season too.

## Getting There From Calgary, Canmore or Banff

The [Brewster Express](https://www.banffjaspercollection.com/brewster-express/schedule/?ref=thebanffguide.com) connects the Stoney Nakoda stop with Calgary, Canmore, Banff, Lake Louise and points north towards the Columbia Icefield. It's a separate Pursuit service, so travellers should check its timetable and fares rather than assume the two schedules will politely line up.
